Are you passionate about creating a positive experience for students and families in a supportive, purpose-driven educational environment?

ABOUT US

Margaret Jurd College (MJC) is a dynamic school committed to supporting young people with complex needs to engage in education and realise their potential.

We foster an inclusive, judgement-free environment where students are supported as individuals and where strong relationships, collaboration and innovative thinking are central to the way we work.

THE ROLE

As our Student Relations Officer, you will be one of the first points of contact for students, parents, carers and visitors at our Shortland Campus.

This is much more than a reception role. You will play an important part in creating a welcoming and well-organised campus while supporting student services, enrolments, attendance, records and day-to-day communication across the College.

Your responsibilities will include:

Creating a professional, welcoming and supportive first point of contact for students, families and visitors.

Managing reception, incoming communications and visitor access with professionalism and confidentiality.

Supporting student attendance, enrolments, records and document management.

Communicating with parents and carers regarding attendance, enrolment processes and other student services.

Coordinating student services including transport arrangements, meetings, activities and campus events.

Maintaining accurate and confidential student information within College systems.

Supporting student orientation and transition into the College.

Assisting with campus safety procedures, visitor management and First Aid facilities.

Working closely with teaching, wellbeing, leadership and administration teams to provide responsive support to students and families.

ABOUT YOU

You are organised, approachable and genuinely enjoy helping people. You can balance competing priorities while remaining calm, professional and responsive in a busy school environment.

Importantly, you understand that every interaction with a student or family contributes to their experience of the College.

You will bring:

Experience in administration, student services, reception or a similar customer-focused environment, ideally within a school or community setting.

Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a related field.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues and external stakeholders.

Excellent attention to detail and confidence managing records and sensitive information.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn student information systems.

A collaborative, flexible and solutions-focused approach.

The ability to work effectively in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly.

A current Working with Children Check, National Police Certificate and NSW Driver Licence.

Alignment with the values and ethos of Margaret Jurd College and the Uniting Church in Australia.
