We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead multiple engineering teams working across cloud-native platforms, shared services and distributed systems. This is a leadership opportunity within a complex software product environment, where multiple engineering teams contribute to a broader, interconnected technology platform.
We're looking for someone who understands the challenges of delivering scalable SaaS products, can bring teams together around shared outcomes and is comfortable navigating technical complexity, competing priorities and change.
What you'll be doing
Leading Engineering Leads and working closely with architects, and other technical stakeholders, you'll provide leadership across multiple engineering teams, helping them deliver consistent, reliable and scalable platform capabilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and developing Engineering Leads, strengthening team capability, performance and accountability.
- Coordinating engineering activities across multiple teams delivering interconnected platform services and solutions.
- Improving collaboration, technical alignment and consistency across engineering teams.
- Identifying and managing technical dependencies, delivery risks and competing priorities.
- Partnering with architecture, product, security and engineering stakeholders to resolve complex challenges.
- Driving engineering standards, delivery predictability and continuous improvement.
- Supporting teams through evolving priorities, technical change and increasing engineering maturity.
About you
You’ll be an experienced Engineering Manager or Software Development Manager with a strong software engineering foundation and experience working in complex, multi-team environments.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Proven experience leading engineering teams, including coaching and developing Engineering Leads or senior engineers.
- Experience delivering scalable SaaS products, cloud-native platforms or complex software solutions.
- A strong understanding of AWS, APIs, distributed systems and modern software engineering practices.
- Exposure to platform engineering, shared services, data platforms or backend software development.
- Experience coordinating technical delivery across multiple teams, systems and dependencies.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence without relying on authority.
- The judgement to navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities and make pragmatic decisions.
Most importantly, you'll be a collaborative leader who can bring people together, challenge constructively and introduce improvements while respecting the knowledge and experience already within the business.
