About the role
We are seeking a Casual Retail Assistant to join our team at Manning Shoe Store in Forster NSW 2428. This is a casual position offering the opportunity to work within a dynamic retail environment. In this role, you will be at the heart of our store operations, delivering outstanding customer service and supporting the smooth running of our retail space.
Key responsibilities
- Welcoming customers with a friendly greeting and assisting them in selecting appropriate footwear based on their needs
- Processing customer transactions accurately using the till system and handling cash, card and other payment methods
- Maintaining the store environment by keeping shelves well-stocked, organised and visually appealing
- Handling stock rotation, receiving deliveries and recording inventory as required
- Supporting the implementation of promotional activities and window displays
- Maintaining high standards of personal presentation and store cleanliness
- Assisting with other duties as required to support the retail operation
What we’re looking for
- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with customers and colleagues
- Enthusiasm and a genuine interest in helping customers find the right products
- Basic numeracy skills for cash handling and transaction processing
- Reliability and punctuality with the ability to work flexibly around casual shift patterns
- Willingness to learn about products and store procedures
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift and move stock as needed
- A professional attitude and commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Able to work weekdays plus rotational weekends as part of team roster
