Manjits Wharf is looking for an experienced and passionate Tandoori & Curry Chef to join our professional kitchen team. We are looking for a chef with strong experience in Indian cuisine, particularly traditional tandoor cooking, curry preparation and high-volume restaurant service. Sponsorship available for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities
- Running and managing the Tandoor section
- Preparing a wide range of authentic and contemporary Indian curries
- Preparing marinades, gravies, sauces, stocks and mise en place
- Maintaining consistency, portion control and presentation
- Working efficiently during high-volume service
- Maintaining food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
- Controlling wastage and assisting with stock management
- Assisting with menu development and new dishes
- Training and supporting junior kitchen staff
About you
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
- Strong Tandoor and Curry section experience
- Excellent knowledge of Indian spices, marinades and cooking techniques
- Experience in a busy, high-volume restaurant
- Strong knife and preparation skills
- Ability to maintain quality and consistency under pressure
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene
- Reliable and professional attitude
- Strong teamwork and communication
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required
