Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.
Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony. The mine's workforce consists of approximately 300 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.
Please note: Costerfield Operations is a residential mine and does not facilitate FIFO.
Requirements
The Role
Reporting to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor We are looking for a qualified and experienced Fixed Plant Maintenance Fitter that can confidently maintain our mobile crusher and various fixed plant. You will work within a small, tight-knit team.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Carrying out preventative maintenance, scheduled servicing and shutdown work on fixed plant equipment
- Fault-finding and diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic issues
- Attending breakdowns and carrying out repairs promptly and safely
- Removing, repairing, replacing and aligning pumps, gearboxes, motors, bearings and drive components
- Maintaining conveyors, crushers, screens, feeders and associated plant
- Working to isolation and lockout procedures and site safety systems
- Completing job documentation and reporting accurately
- Working closely with operations, supervisors and other trades to minimise downtime
The Person
We are seeking an individual who possesses:
- Commitment to safe operations
- Fitter and Turner, Boiler Maker or Fabricator trade qualification.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in breakdown, repair and scheduled maintenance onfixed plant and equipment
- Experience working in processing operations
- Experience in fabrication and welding
- A current driver’s licence and own transport
- An ability to learn a new role in a fast-paced environment
- Competent computer skills including the MS Office suite and CMMS (MEX)
