Our market leading Taxation group is currently seeking a solicitor (2-5 PQE) to join our team in Sydney. In this role you will work on income tax matters for a wide range of clients including domestic and multinational corporates across a range of industries, including financial services, technology, telecommunications, health and mining.
Our team are responsible for delivering timely, commercially focussed and cost-effective advice to clients on the tax issues arising out of a wide range of transactions, including issues related to the disposal and acquisition of businesses and entities, corporate restructures, employee share plans, corporate distributions, cross-border transactions and complex finance transactions. Your work will include the provision of tax advice and drafting legal documents.
We advise some of the world's largest banks, financial institutions, insurance providers, fund managers and telecommunications, resources, energy and industrial companies, on taxation law aspects of their transactions and disputes in Australia and offshore. We work closely with colleagues in other practice groups including Banking, M&A, and Funds Management.

Requirements:
- Recognised tax experience gained in a legal or accounting firm with a focus on corporate advisory and/or financial services work, including experience in drafting opinions and legal drafting (although candidates with limited legal drafting experience are still encouraged to apply provided they are willing to develop these skills).
- Excellent analytical, communication and research skills. Legal research is a significant part of this role so a willingness to undertake detailed legal research (which also includes the appropriate use of AI tools) is imperative.
- A strong commitment to client service.
- Enthusiasm to be involved in business development activities.
