About the role
Our Perth Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team is currently recruiting a Solicitor (2-3 years' PQE). You will be part of Perth's leading public M&A practice, working very closely with Antonella Pacitti, Partner and member of the Takeovers Panel as well as Senior Associates, Jacob Carmody and Toby Newnes who are recognised for advising on complex, high-profile national and cross-border transactions and for their development of lawyers to the highest standards of technical and commercial proficiency.
The team acts for many of the region's leading clients, notably across the energy & resources, industrials, health and technology sectors, and regularly collaborates with our Melbourne and Sydney colleagues and our go-to firms in the US, UK, Europe and LatAm. The role offers excellent exposure to a broad and engaging range of matters, across the full spectrum of M&A (both private and public), corporate and board advisory and equity capital markets.
With hands‑on supervision and support, you'll have the opportunity to build your legal and project management skills, take on new challenges and work collaboratively with colleagues across practice areas and our Mallesons' network.
- Demonstrated experience in working on and executing corporate transactions
- First-rate experience of drafting documents (including transaction documents, public disclosure documents, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, communication and research skills - to contribute to the delivery of prompt and commercially astute advice
- Strong commitment to client service and an interest in developing client relationships
- Commercial curiosity - a drive to keep up to date with sector issues and development to enhance personal performance and client delivery
- Team focus - to facilitate effective teamwork by developing strong internal relationships
- Enthusiasm to be involved in business development activities - participating in industry related programs and developing strategic relationships and networks
- Recognised corporate experience gained in a similar private practice environment
- A willingness to embrace new technologies, including AI enabled legal tools, as part of your ongoing professional development
