Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with production projected of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum.
With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE
To support our ongoing growth, we currently have a number of opportunities for
Experienced Underground Longwall and/or Development Operators to join our Team.
The ideal candidates will have a strong background in underground coal mining, specifically longwall and/or continuous miner experience, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
You will be responsible for operating various types of underground mining equipment, ensuring efficient and safe production.
Key responsibilities
- Operate underground mining equipment including continuous miners, roof bolters, shuttle cars, and load-haul-dump (LHD) machines.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor and manage the mining process to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of operations and report any incidents or irregularities.
ABOUT YOU
Successful applicants will have
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Underground Longwall Coal Mining.
- Current competency in the operation of plant or equipment in underground coal mining.
- Proven track record of safely working in an underground mining environment.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in coal mining.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and handle heavy equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experienced continuous miner operators will be highly regarded.
Successful applicants will be required to undertake an Order 45 medical, including drug and alcohol.
