About The Role

Reporting to the Executive Director - MindSpot and Mental Health Services, you will lead MindSpot's growth strategy and business development pipeline, translating opportunities into sustainable services and partnerships. You will work alongside the Senior Management Team and Macquarie University Health's Marketing and Business Development function to ensure growth activity and audience engagement work together.

  • Lead the development and execution of MindSpot's growth strategy to increase reach, impact, sustainability and awareness.
  • Identify, assess and secure new funding, commissioning and partnership opportunities aligned with MindSpot’s mission and values, developing the business cases and proposals to support them.

  • Build and maintain high-value partnerships with government agencies, health systems, primary care organisations, universities, research institutions and funders.
  • Lead the Senior Marketing and Communications Specialist (Digital), with scope to grow the team, and work with MQ Health Marketing and external providers to deliver integrated campaigns to increase awareness and uptake of MindSpot services.
  • Establish performance measures across growth, partnerships and marketing, using market intelligence and data to prioritise investment and evaluate outcomes.

About Us

MindSpot's vision is to build an emotionally resilient world by using technology to improve access to, and quality of, mental health care. MindSpot comprises a research clinic (eCentreClinic), a national online mental health service (MindSpot Clinic) and a state-based virtual mental health service (MindSpot GP), with its clinical research arm developing and evaluating innovative digital treatments that inform frontline clinical services.

At Macquarie University Health we unite the best clinicians with world-renowned researchers and clinical educators to lead the development of health and medical education and practice in Australia. About You

You have a strong track record in business development, partnerships or growth. You understand how people find and choose services, and how to use marketing and data to reach them. You may be an experienced leader looking for work with purpose, or someone ready to step into a broader role. Either way, you can see an opportunity, build the case for it and bring the right people with you.

You combine commercial judgement with a genuine commitment to improving access to health and mental health services, and you are motivated by growth that creates measurable impact for the community. Experience in health, mental health, government, higher education, research or not‑for‑profit settings is highly desirable, though strong candidates from other complex service sectors are encouraged to apply.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business, marketing, health management, public health, communications, commerce, management or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification (for example MBA, Master of Public Health or Health Management) is desirable.
  • Significant experience in senior business development, partnerships, growth, strategy or commercial development roles, with demonstrated success delivering measurable growth outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver growth strategies that increase organisational awareness, reach, impact, and sustainability.
  • Proven track record of establishing and managing strategic partnerships and influencing senior stakeholders across government, health, primary care, universities, research organisations and funders, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well‑developed commercial judgement, including the ability to identify and secure funding, commissioning, grant or commercial opportunities, assess risk, develop business cases and balance financial sustainability with mission and values.
  • Experience leading marketing and audience growth, including brand, digital and campaign activity, using data and insights to increase engagement and service uptake.
  • A genuine commitment to improving access to mental health care, and a collaborative, values‑led approach.
