Join a growing Global Trade Surveillance team based in Sydney, with a strong focus on market conduct compliance, regulatory risk management, and control effectiveness across public and private investment businesses. We are a global financial services group operating in 30 markets with 57 years of unbroken profitability. At Macquarie, you’re empowered to shape a career that is fulfilling and creates value.

As a Trade Surveillance Manager, you will oversee the day‑to‑day execution of trade and communications surveillance activities across Macquarie Asset Management's public and private investment businesses, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, market integrity, and conduct risk management. You will lead and perform in-depth investigations into potentially suspicious trading activity, market abuse risks, conflicts of interest, and the handling of material non-public information across public market investment teams and private market businesses including Real Estate, Real Assets, and Credit. You will assess regulatory risk and policy adherence, and ensure findings are appropriately escalated and remediated. You will serve as a key escalation point for complex or high-risk matters, providing expert guidance to junior surveillance staff and ensuring investigations meet regulatory expectations for quality, documentation, and timeliness. In close partnership with regional and global Compliance teams, you will help deliver consistent and defensible surveillance coverage aligned with regulatory obligations and internal standards.

What You Offer

  • Demonstrated experience in financial markets, asset management, or investment management, with a strong focus on public markets, Real Estate, Real Assets, Infrastructure, or Credit investing, and associated market conduct and regulatory compliance risks.
  • In-depth understanding of market abuse risks, conflicts of interest, material non-public information controls, relevant regulations, internal policies, and expected compliance controls across investment decision-making, trading activity, and client interactions.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior management.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret surveillance alerts, analyse trading and communications data, reconstruct trading activity and investment decisions, and assess conduct against regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in trade surveillance, investigations, and regulatory frameworks applicable to asset management businesses, including public market trading and private market investments would be highly desirable.

What We Offer

  • 1 wellbeing leave day per year.
  • Up to 5 additional service bonus leave days per year.
  • Up to 20 weeks’ paid parental leave for primary caregivers along with 12 days of transition leave upon return to work, and 6 weeks’ paid leave for non-primary caregivers.
  • 2 days of paid volunteer leave and donation matching.
  • Up to 12 months’ gender affirmation leave, including 6 weeks’ paid leave.
  • Access to Employee Assistance Program and wellbeing benefits including skin and health checks, and flu vaccinations.
