Macqu Auto Pty Ltd is a growing automotive business based on the Gold Coast, operating as both a used-car dealership and mechanical workshop, specialising in European vehicles.
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Light Vehicle Mechanic with a strong background in European vehicles to join our team on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will work across our daily workshop operations, performing general mechanical repairs, servicing, diagnostics, pre-purchase vehicle inspectionsand preparing vehicles for resale.
We are looking for someone who is confident working independently, has strong mechanical knowledge and is comfortable dealing with a variety of mechanical jobs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general mechanical repairs, servicing and maintenance on light vehicles.
- Work on European vehicle brands, including Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and other European makes.
- Carry out engine repairs and rebuilds.
- Perform suspension, steering, braking and transmission repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct pre-purchase mechanical inspections and assess vehicles before the business purchases them.
- Identify mechanical issues and estimate required repairs, parts and labour.
- Prepare dealership vehicles for resale, ensuring they are mechanically sound and safe.
- Carry out road tests and verify completed repairs.
- Assist with daily workshop operations and general mechanical duties.
Applicants must have:
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology .
- Minimum 3 years of relevant full-time experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience working with European vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of general mechanical repairs, including engine, suspension, braking and transmission systems.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Ability to perform pre-purchase vehicle inspections and identify potential mechanical problems.
- Tyre Fitting and Wheel Alignment Experience
- Ability to work independently and manage daily workshop tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Available to work Saturday(Rotating Roster).
