About the Role
Reporting to the Manager – Finance, this Senior Management Accountant role will provide reporting to key stakeholders, a broad range of management and financial accounting, financial modelling and general commercial support to the Surface Mining Australia business.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including attending to the month-end close process.
- Analyse financial data to monitor costs, identify variances, and recommend strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure all financial records comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Attend to Balance Sheet reconciliations for the legal entity.
- Participate in regular project and team meetings to improve understanding of the operations and business.
What You’ll Bring
- CPA or CA qualification
- Minimum 5 years' accounting experience with exposure to medium sized public companies
- Strong management accounting and financial modelling skills
- Flexibility to travel occasionally to further develop company stakeholder relationships
- Experience within Surface Mining Operations (preferred)
