About the role

We invite passionate educators at every stage of their career to join our vibrant community of dedicated teachers. At MacKillop, our science teachers cultivate a strong foundation in scientific reasoning, with our chemistry teachers deepening this understanding through the intentional integration of theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring the development of both conceptual clarity and confidence in the laboratory. Students build their understanding of atomic theory, chemical and biochemical reactions, stoichiometry, energy transformations and analytical techniques. The Chemistry curriculum strengthens students’ ability to apply chemical principles, conduct safe and methodical laboratory investigations, analyse and interpret data, and communicate scientific findings with precision and clarity.

The curriculum is thoughtfully planned and well-sequenced, with learning experiences that are responsive to student learning needs and aligned with clear learning goals. Learning is grounded in real-world application, enabling students to see scientific thinking as relevant and transferable beyond the classroom. Our community of talented educators is committed to preparing students for life beyond school, through an engaging academic and behavioural curriculum that develops knowledge, skills, independence and a strong sense of responsibility.
