Ready to step up? This is your opportunity. Albury Mazda is a family-owned dealership, and on 1 January 2027 we move into our brand new facility at 90 North Street, Albury. We're growing from a 5-bay workshop to 7 bays, and we're looking for a Service Manager to lead it.

This role is built for someone who's ready to move up. You might be an Assistant Service Manager, Workshop Controller or Workshop Foreman, or a qualified tech who's already been leading a team. You don't need to have been a Service Manager before. You do need to be ready to own the role.

What makes this different

You'll report directly to the Dealer Principal, whose office is right next door to yours. That means real, day-to-day mentoring from someone heavily involved in the service operation. The responsibility and accountability are yours from day one, with genuine support behind you while you grow into it. You'll also have the chance to help shape the culture of a brand new workshop. We like to have fun and muck around a bit, but the work gets done every day.

If you think you're ready

You don't need the title on your resume. Maybe you're an Assistant Service Manager, a Workshop Controller, or a tech who's already the one the team looks to. What you need is the drive to own a department from day one, with the Dealer Principal in the office next door backing you every step of the way.

The team you'll lead

  • 7 qualified technicians across 7 bays, plus an apprentice
  • A Workshop Controller
  • A service advisor team (scaled to retail volume)

What you'll be responsible for

  • Running the workshop to hit KPIs and profitability targets
  • Leading, rostering and developing the team
  • Handling customer concerns and tough conversations calmly and fairly
  • Driving MSI scores - Customer Satisfaction
  • Budgeting and recruitment
  • Helping set up and settle the team into the new facility

What we're looking for

  • Trade certification (Cert III Light Vehicle or equivalent) and/or experience as a Workshop Controller, Workshop Foreman or Assistant Service Manager
  • If you've been a technician, clear examples of leading a team effectively
  • Comfort dealing with customers, including the difficult ones, without getting rattled
  • An easy-going, no-nonsense personality. The kind of person most people would happily have a beer with.
  • Results focussed. Hours are Monday to Friday, and we value work-life balance, but the job has to get done.

What's on offer

  • Company car
  • Laptop
  • Monday to Friday, with no weekends
  • Direct mentorship from the Dealer Principal
  • Performance-based team outings for the service department
