Angelica Mexican is looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.
Angelica is a modern Mexican restaurant at Norwest Quarter, serving bold, vibrant dishes inspired by regional Mexican flavours. We are looking for a hands-on chef who can support the Head Chef, maintain high standards and help lead the kitchen during busy services.
The role
As Sous Chef, you will:
- Support the Head Chef with the daily operation of the kitchen
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team during service
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control
- Assist with ordering, stock control, food costs and waste management
- Help train, develop and onboard kitchen staff
- Maintain strong food safety, hygiene and cleaning standards
- Assist with prep planning, rostering and kitchen organisation
- Take responsibility for the kitchen when the Head Chef is unavailable
About you
You will have:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef
- Experience in a busy, quality-focused restaurant
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- A calm and practical approach during busy services
- A genuine passion for food and hospitality
- Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen procedures
- Full availability on weekends
- The right to work in Australia
Experience with Mexican or Latin American cuisine is an advantage but is not essential.
