Since 2005, Lucas House and Garden has been creating exceptional gardens across Melbourne's inner Eastern and Bayside suburbs. We're a true end-to-end business, with in-house design, permits, construction and maintenance. Your designs don't get handed off and forgotten. You'll watch them come to life with our own construction crews and flourish under the care of our horticulturalists.
We're looking for a visionary Head of Landscape Design to lead our design department. You'll bring the creativity and leadership, plus the commercial flair to help us grow.
What you'll be doing
Setting the creative direction for every project, with vibrant, cutting-edge designs using on-trend materials and techniques
Taking clients on the journey from first concept to master plans and construction drawings
Leading, mentoring and inspiring a talented team of designers and support staff
Building relationships with clients, architects and developers, leading presentations and winning great projects
Steering projects through planning and building approvals so our clients don't have to
Working hand in hand with our construction team to deliver on time, on budget and beautifully
Driving our design technology forward (Vectorworks, SketchUp, Lumion) and keeping us ahead of the trends
Representing Lucas at a handful of industry events each year
What you'll bring
A standout landscape design portfolio and a genuine eye for detail
Experience leading and developing a design team
Confidence in client presentations, sales and business development
Strong skills in Vectorworks, SketchUp and/or Lumion
Experience navigating Victorian planning and building approvals
Commercial awareness, including budgets, forecasting and workflow management
Landscape Architecture or Landscape Design qualifications highly regarded
