With a population of around 3,500, it is the base for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of Distance Education. The town is also home to a Cosmos Centre, which houses an observatory perfect for viewing the Milky Way Galaxy.
Accommodation will be provided in a self-contained non-sharing fully furnished unit and a car to use after hours. Duties will include working as per the local roster and sharing the after hours on call. Flights from Brisbane are through Rex Airlines only.
