National Opportunity | Melbourne Preferred | Open to Candidates Across Australia

Plan the Network. Solve the Challenges. Keep Australia Moving.

At Lineage, we're reimagining the world's food supply chain.

As the world's largest temperature-controlled warehouse REIT and logistics solutions provider, we play a critical role in connecting producers, retailers and consumers through an integrated cold chain network. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, ensuring food moves safely, efficiently and sustainably every day.

We're currently seeking an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join our growing Logistics Solutions team.

This is not an IT, Business Intelligence or data analyst role.

We're looking for a transport professional who has planned, allocated and dispatched trucks in a live transport environment and understands what it takes to keep freight moving when plans change in real time.

About the Role

As our Senior Transport Planner, you'll be responsible for planning, building and executing daily refrigerated transport movements across Lineage's national network.

Working closely with transport operations, warehouses, carriers and customer service teams, you'll ensure transport plans are not only optimised on screen but are practical, executable and effective on the road.

You'll act as the planning subject matter expert for the business, balancing service, cost, capacity and compliance while helping to drive continual improvements across the network.

This is a highly visible role that combines operational planning expertise, problem-solving capability and transport network optimisation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Planning and executing daily transport movements across Lineage's national refrigerated network

  • Reviewing and refining Transport Management System (TMS) generated plans to ensure operational feasibility

  • Managing planning decisions around driver hours, trailer availability, dock capacity and customer delivery windows

  • Responding to disruptions and real-time operational challenges while maintaining service performance

  • Working closely with transport operations teams, warehouses and subcontract carriers

  • Driving load optimisation and fleet utilisation outcomes

  • Analysing network performance to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements

  • Supporting transport system enhancements, optimisation initiatives and continuous improvement projects

  • Coaching and mentoring planners while sharing best practice across the business

  • Ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management and transport regulations.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a transport professional who understands that great planning happens where operations meet execution.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Extensive experience in transport planning, allocation or dispatch within a live transport environment

  • Experience working in refrigerated transport, FMCG, retail distribution or other time-critical freight operations

  • In-depth, hands‑on experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) such as Blue Yonder, ORTEC, Translogix or similar

  • Sound understanding of fleet operations, vehicle utilisation, transport compliance and carrier management

  • Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and mass compliance requirements

  • Experience balancing customer service outcomes with operational and commercial realities

  • The ability to remain calm, decisive and solutions‑focused when plans change

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

  • A continuous improvement mindset and passion for operational excellence.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience supporting national or multi-state transport networks

  • Background in cold chain, FMCG or primary logistics

  • Logistics or Supply Chain qualifications

  • Experience mentoring or coaching transport planners

  • Exposure to Excel and Power BI reporting.

Why Join Lineage?

At Lineage, you'll be joining an organisation that is transforming the future of food logistics while investing in the growth and development of its people.

  • The opportunity to influence transport performance across a national network

  • Working alongside some of the industry's most experienced logistics professionals

  • Genuine career development and progression opportunities

  • Access to industry‑leading technology and transport optimisation tools

  • The chance to make a meaningful impact in a business that plays an essential role in Australia's food supply chain
