Brisbane-based | Starting early November 2026 | Casual, short-term position

Leisure Lane Photography is a growing childcare photography business working with centres across South East Queensland. We’re looking for a friendly, confident and enthusiastic person to help introduce our business to childcare centres across Brisbane and get bookings for our 2027 season.

This is a short-term, 20-day (4-week) sales campaign with a simple goal: visit childcare centres, meet directors, show them examples of our photography, and help them understand what we do differently. This isn’t about hard selling. It’s about making a great first impression, asking a few good questions, understanding what a centre is looking for and seeing whether we’re a good fit for them.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll spend your days visiting childcare centres around Brisbane, introducing yourself to centre directors and other relevant decision-makers, and showing them examples of our work.
  • Your role will include:
    • Visiting approximately 15–20 childcare centres per day.
    • Introducing Leisure Lane Photography and showing directors our professional photography album.
    • Having friendly conversations about their current photography and what matters to them.
    • Explaining how our approach works, including the parent experience, the quality and variety of our photographs, and our organised photo-day process.
    • Asking questions, listening and identifying centres that could be a good fit for our business.
    • Following up with directors who have asked for more information or agreed to another conversation.
    • Confirming bookings and recording the relevant details accurately.

You’ll have training, sales resources and support from Sam, the business owner. You’ll learn our approach before heading out, and we’ll work through conversations, questions and common scenarios together.

What makes this role different?

We want someone who enjoys sales without needing to be pushy. You’ll be representing a business that takes pride in its photography, communication and organisation. Many centres already have a photographer, and that’s okay. Your job isn’t to convince every centre to change. It’s to help directors understand what we offer, find out what matters to them and identify opportunities where we might be a better fit.

Sometimes that will mean booking a centre. Sometimes it will mean arranging a follow-up conversation. And sometimes it will mean leaving a positive impression and moving on. We value genuine conversations, good judgement and professional follow-through just as much as confidence and enthusiasm.

Pay and commission

  • Base rate: $34 per hour.
  • Commission: $150 per confirmed booking.
  • Hours: Approximately 6 hours per day, across 20 working days.
  • Potential earnings: At 30 confirmed bookings, approximately $8,489 in gross wages and commission, before superannuation and tax. There is no cap on commission. If you secure more than 30 bookings, you’ll earn additional commission for every qualifying booking.
  • A booking counts when the childcare centre has initialled our online agreement confirming its photography job date. Verbal interest or a request for more information does not count as a confirmed booking.
  • Superannuation will be paid in accordance with applicable requirements.

Who we’re looking for

You don’t necessarily need years of sales experience. We’re more interested in your personality, communication skills and approach to people. You’ll likely be a good fit if you:

  • Are friendly, approachable and confident starting conversations with new people.
  • Can build rapport quickly with centre directors and busy professionals.
  • Are enthusiastic and personable without being over the top.
  • Listen well and ask thoughtful questions rather than dominating conversations.
  • Can handle rejection without taking it personally.
  • Are organised, reliable and comfortable recording information and following up.
  • Can work independently, manage your time and stay motivated throughout the day.
  • Are comfortable with face‑to‑face sales and travelling between centres around Brisbane.
  • Represent a business professionally and treat people respectfully, regardless of the outcome.
  • A background in sales, customer service, hospitality, education or childcare could be helpful, but attitude and communication skills are more important.

You’ll need reliable transport, a valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel between appointments.
