Inventory Analyst β Warehouse Management System (WMS)
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst with strong handsβon Warehouse Management System (WMS) expertise to own WMS accuracy, configuration, reporting, and inventory data integrity across our distribution operation. This role is about more than counting stock β you will be the go-to expert for how our WMS is used, configured, and maintained day-to-day.1
What youβll do
WMS operation and configuration
Act as the primary system owner for the WMS: manage item master data, locations, zones, slotting logic, replenishment rules, picking waves, cycle-count programs, and workflow templates.
Review and maintain WMS configuration across receiving, put-away, pick, pack, replenishment, transfer, and dispatch processes.
Investigate and resolve WMS transaction errors, stuck orders, mis-picks, and failed scans; coordinate root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Work with the IT/systems team to test and deploy WMS upgrades, patches, and configuration changes; run UAT and document outcomes.
Manage WMS user accounts, roles, and permissions; train warehouse staff and supervisors on correct system use.
Inventory accuracy and control
Reconcile physical stock with WMS, ERP, and finance records; investigate variances, shrinkage, damages, and adjustment trends.
Plan and execute cycle-count programs, physical inventories, and stock audits; maintain inventory accuracy and compliance metrics.
Maintain accurate lot, serial, expiry (FIFO/FEFO), and unit-of-measure master data within the WMS.
Identify and eliminate sources of data corruption β mis-scans, duplicate transactions, system errors β and improve process discipline.
Reporting and improvement
Build and maintain WMS dashboards and reports: inventory accuracy, order fill rate, cycle-count performance, adjustment variance, slotting efficiency, and throughput trends.
Analyse WMS transaction data to identify bottlenecks, slotting inefficiencies, and process gaps; recommend and implement improvements.
Support month-end and audit activities by producing reliable inventory and transaction records.
Partner with warehouse supervisors, supply chain, IT, and finance to align system use with operational and control requirements.
What youβll bring
2+ yearsβ experience as an inventory analyst, inventory controller, or WMS super-user within a warehouse or distribution environment.
Demonstrated hands-on WMS ownership β configuration, transaction troubleshooting, cycle counts, master data, reporting, and user support.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a practical, root-cause approach to data errors and process gaps.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation of large datasets); experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools is a plus.
Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical system behaviour into operational language for warehouse and finance stakeholders.
Understanding of inventory control principles β cycle counting, reconciliation, FIFO/FEFO, stock adjustments β and how they are enforced in a WMS.
Hands-on experience with Paperless WM, SAP WM/EWM, Oracle, NetSuite, Blue Yonder, Manhattan, HighJump, or a comparable WMS.
Experience supporting WMS implementation, migration, or upgrade projects.
Barcode/RFID scanning and RF-gun workflows.
APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar supply chain certification.
You will be the operational backbone of how our warehouse runs on its systems β with direct influence over configuration, data quality, process design, and the accuracy our business depends on.
