Le Bouchon French Cuisine | Balnarring, Mornington Peninsula
Starting February 2027
Le Bouchon is looking for a first-year apprentice chef who is reliable, keen to learn and serious about a career in the kitchen.
Established in 2013, we’re an owner-operated French restaurant in Balnarring. You’ll work alongside our experienced chefs, learning classic French cooking and the day-to-day running of a professional kitchen.
No previous kitchen experience is necessary. We’re looking for someone who listens, takes direction and works well with others.
The role
You’ll learn food preparation, knife skills, cooking techniques and presentation while helping with daily preparation and service. Cleaning, food safety and keeping your section organised are also part of the job.
We’ll provide practical guidance in the kitchen and support you through your formal apprenticeship.
What we’re looking for
A genuine interest in cooking and commitment to completing an apprenticeship.
Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to learn.
A team approach and readiness to help with all kitchen duties.
Availability for evening and Saturday shifts.
Reliable transport to and from Balnarring.
Working at Le Bouchon
You’ll join an established kitchen team with experienced chefs to learn from. The restaurant is closed Sundays, Mondays and public holidays.
The apprenticeship will begin in February 2027. We’ll invite shortlisted applicants for trial shifts before then, so we can meet, work together and discuss the role.
