Join a global technology infrastructure organisation operating some of the world's most advanced and large-scale data centre environments. We are seeking a hands‑on Rack Capacity Installation Technician to support the deployment, installation, and commissioning of critical infrastructure across a Melbourne-based data centre campus.
The Opportunity
As a Rack Capacity Installation Technician, you will be responsible for executing rack deployments, structured cabling activities, hardware installation, and handovers to operations teams. You will work within established procedures and standards, ensuring every installation is completed safely, accurately, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install racks, hardware and associated infrastructure
- Complete fibre and copper cabling to required standards
- Perform cable testing, validation and quality checks
- Maintain accurate installation and asset documentation
- Support inventory, materials management and deployment activities
- Work closely with operations, engineering and facilities teams
- Follow all site safety, quality and compliance procedures
About You
- Experience in data centre, telecommunications, infrastructure or technical field services environments
- Knowledge of structured cabling, fibre and copper networks
- Experience installing and troubleshooting computer hardware
- Understanding of networking fundamentals
- Exposure to Linux environments is advantageous
- Ability to follow documented procedures and safety requirements
- Comfortable lifting equipment and working at heights when required
