We are seeking experienced Cantonese–English Medical Interpreters for a full-time, remote Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) position. This role supports medical appointments, consultations, and urgent healthcare interactions. Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, impartial interpretation between Cantonese‐speaking patients and English‐speaking healthcare providers
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Apply strong knowledge of medical terminology and interpreter ethics
- Handle sensitive and urgent medical calls with professionalism
- Remain available during assigned shifts and participate in quality reviews or team check‐ins as required
Candidate Qualifications
- Native or near‐native fluency in Cantonese and English
- Minimum 1 year of professional medical interpreting experience (OPI or VRI)
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, ethics, and confidentiality standards
- High school diploma or equivalent (higher education preferred)
- Excellent listening, memory retention, and note‐taking skills
- Comfortable working remotely and managing varied call types
- Must successfully pass a language proficiency assessment and background check
