We're looking for a Sign Assembly Team Member to join our production team at Sunshine West on a full-time basis. You'll be hands-on in the factory, turning fabricated components into finished signage boards ready for the installers: panel signs, light boxes, routed letters, directional and wayfinding signs, and vinyl-applied graphics. The work is varied in size and type, from small retail panels to large illuminated signs. Experience in a sign shop is a real advantage, but we'll consider candidates from other hands-on manufacturing or trades backgrounds who are careful, practical and keen to learn.
Key responsibilities
- Assemble signage boards and components to job drawings and specifications
- Cut, drill, fit and fasten aluminium, aluminium composite panel, acrylic, steel and timber components
- Apply vinyl graphics and digital prints to panels, including weeding, masking and lamination
- Fit LED modules, power supplies and low-voltage wiring into illuminated signs
- Fit acrylic faces, returns, trims and fixings to light boxes and 3D letters
- Check your own work against the job sheet - dimensions, finish, alignment - before it leaves your bench
- Clean, pack and label finished signs for dispatch or installation
- Keep your work area tidy and tools and equipment in good order
- Work to production schedules and let the supervisor know early if a job is running behind
- Help the install team with loading and site work when required
About you
- A minimum 5 years in sign manufacturing, cabinet making, joinery, shopfitting, metal fabrication or similar hands‑on production work
- Confident with hand and power tools - drills, saws, routers, rivet guns, sanders
- Able to read job sheets, drawings and tape measures accurately - attention to detail matters here
- Vinyl application, LED/low-voltage fit-out or panel saw / CNC experience is highly desirable but not essential
- Physically fit - the role involves standing, lifting and handling panels and signs
- Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Forklift licence and White Card desirable but not essential
- Available for occasional overtime or weekend work when production demands it
