Apprentice Maintenance Fitter (first year)

About the role
We're looking for a motivated first-year apprentice fitter to join our Maintenance team.
You'll report to the Maintenance Coordinator – Mechanical and work alongside experienced tradespeople.
You'll learn to
- Install, repair and maintain mechanical plant and equipment.
- Help install and commission new machinery.
- Weld (Oxy, TIG and MIG), machine and fabricate parts.
- Read technical drawings, manuals, and pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and report hazards.
- Work with production to keep downtime to a minimum.
About you
- Keen to start a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
- Hands-on, with a good eye for detail and a love of problem-solving.
- Safety-minded, reliable and happy to learn.
- A good communicator and team player.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy factory.
