Our client, a leader in the cold storage and distribution industry, currently has a vacant position available for an all-round store / forklift operator to join their team located in Yennora.
This role is within the transport & logistics sector, therefore previous experience within a fast-paced working environment is essential. Although you will be operating a forklift, this will also be a hands-on role assisting with the day-to-day operations which will include:
- Picking / packing
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Assisting within the warehouse
Shifts will initially run Monday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a transition to 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM later on; flexibility is required as there may be overtime and weekend work when needed.
Immediate start for the right applicants. Pay rate will be $37.50 per hour plus afternoon shift loading and applicable penalty rates.
The role involves, but is not limited to:
- Operation of forklifts - high reach
- Operation of counterbalance forklifts and electric pallet jacks
- Stock rotation, putaways and replenishment
- Picking and packing orders
- Usage of pallet wrapping machines
- Loading and unloading trucks
- General warehousing duties
- Ad hoc duties as required
To be considered for this role, you MUST:
- Hold a current LF forklift licence
- Have previous experience on Toyota forklifts (advantageous)
- Have a minimum of 2 years experience within a similar industry or role
- Have previous experience with high reach forklifts and putaways (a must)
- Have moderate communication skills both written and verbally
- Be physically fit as some roles will involve heavy lifting
- Have your own reliable transport
- Be flexible with work hours; shift times may vary
- Be reliable and punctual
- RF scanning (preferred but not essential)
