Transport Refrigeration Mechanic in Adelaide

General Duties

• Conduct daily and pre-trip inspections of transport refrigeration equipment.
• Service, maintain and repair Thermo King and Carrier trailer refrigeration units.
• Complete engine servicing
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults.
• Inspect, test and repair 12-volt electrical systems and associated components.
• Identify defects, determine repair requirements and elevate matters affecting equipment availability or safe operation.
• Maintain tools, equipment and the work area in a safe, clean and serviceable condition.
• Work safely and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship

Skills & Experience

• Trade qualification in light vehicle, heavy vehicle, diesel mechanical or a related mechanical field.
• Current driver licence.
• Experience servicing and repairing transport refrigeration units, including Thermo King and/or Carrier equipment, is highly regarded.
• Diesel engine servicing and repair experience is advantageous.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults.
• Experience with 12-volt electrical systems is advantageous.
• Experience within transport, fleet maintenance or logistics is highly regarded.
• Ability to interpret instructions, follow maintenance procedures and complete accurate repair documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable and punctual, with effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of safely completing the manual tasks associated with the role.
