La Vie Hotels & Resorts is a growing hotel group where your work is seen, valued and shapes how we grow. At La Vie Hotels & Resorts, finance isn't a back-office function; it's how our hotels make better decisions every day. We're looking for an organised, curious Financial Controller to partner with our Australian hotels and work alongside our Group Director of Finance.
Why you'll love this role:
- Real ownership - you'll be the go-to finance partner for your hotels, not a cog in a big machine
- Learn from the top - work closely with the Group Director of Finance and get exposure to the wider business
- Variety every week - city and regional hotels, so no two months look the same
- Modern finance - cloud systems and a team actively improving how we work, with room for your ideas
- Room to grow - as La Vie expands, so do the opportunities
What you'll do:
- Managing month-end close, financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations across the hotel portfolio
- Preparing monthly forecasts, annual budgets and business plans
- Reviewing hotel performance, identifying variances and providing clear commentary and recommendations to General Managers
- Partnering with hotel leadership teams to improve profitability, payroll productivity and overall financial performance
- Working closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll to ensure accurate and timely financial processes
- Managing and supporting compliance requirements including GST, BAS, PAYG, Capex and internal financial controls
- Monitoring cash flow, working capital and hotel financial performance
- Ensuring financial reporting is accurate, timely and aligned with company and owner requirements
- Supporting the Group Director of Finance with portfolio reporting, analysis and strategic projects
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, reporting and finance processes as the business continues to grow.
What you'll bring:
- CA or CPA qualified (or close to finishing)
- 3+ years in hospitality finance, ideally at hotel or cluster level
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise across multiple deadlines
- A sharp eye for detail and a knack for explaining numbers in plain English
- Confidence working with hotel teams and building great relationships
- Bonus points for Sage Intacct or Opera PMS experience
