Marketing Manager in Brisbane

Brisbane’s La Boite Theatre is seeking a creative and commercially minded Marketing Manager to join our close-knit team and help bring extraordinary theatre to audiences.

Working closely with the Artistic Director, Executive Director and the artists behind our productions, you'll get to the heart of the stories we tell, creating compelling campaigns that capture imaginations and inspire audiences to fall in love with live theatre.

Established in 1925 and based at Brisbane's iconic Roundhouse Theatre, La Boite is one of Australia's oldest continuously operating theatre companies.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Executive Director & Co-CEO, the Marketing Manager will take ownership of La Boite's marketing and audience engagement activities, combining creative thinking with commercial acumen to grow audiences, drive ticket sales and strengthen our public profile.

This is a hands‑on leadership role with genuine scope to influence how La Boite connects with audiences, tells its stories and delivers an exceptional patron experience.

You'll be responsible for:

• Marketing and campaigns: Develop and deliver integrated marketing campaigns for La Boite's annual season, productions and organisational activities, spanning digital, advertising, content and communications.
• Audience development: Use audience insights, research and data to attract new audiences, deepen engagement and build lasting relationships with theatre‑goers.
• Ticketing and revenue: Lead ticketing strategy, pricing, promotions and sales initiatives, monitoring box office performance and identifying opportunities to grow revenue.
• Brand and communications: Oversee La Boite's brand, publicity, media relations and communications across owned, earned and paid channels.
• Patron experience: Champion an exceptional audience journey, from first discovery and ticket purchase through to attendance and ongoing engagement.
• Team and budget management: Manage marketing budgets, suppliers and campaign performance, while providing direction to a shared Marketing & Development Assistant.

Please note: As a working theatre company, La Boite operates beyond standard business hours and some evening and weekend work will be required to support productions and events.

About You

We're looking for a confident marketing all‑rounder who understands how to balance creativity with commercial outcomes.

You'll bring:

• At least five years' marketing experience in arts, entertainment, events, tourism or another ticketed consumer environment.
• A demonstrated track record of delivering campaigns that grow audiences, increase sales and build brand engagement.
• Experience managing ticketing, CRM or customer database systems, with strong skills in sales reporting and audience analysis.
• Excellent digital marketing, communications, brand management and content capabilities.
• Strong commercial judgement, budget management and the ability to lead people, suppliers and multiple priorities.
• A collaborative approach, plenty of initiative and an appreciation for the role great theatre plays in our community.
• Experience in the performing arts will be highly regarded, although we welcome applications from candidates with relevant experience in other consumer‑facing industries.
