We are seeking a skilled and motivated Beauty Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis.
About the role
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing specialised nail treatment services, for the technical quality and durability of all work performed, and for overseeing and evaluating the salon's professional product systems and equipment.
We offer AUD $80,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation for the suitable candidate.
Key responsibilities
- Consult with clients to assess nail and skin conditions, treatment requirements and suitability of beauty treatments and products.
- Perform manicure and pedicure services including nail shaping, cuticle work, buffing, callus and dry skin treatment, polish application and specialised hand and foot treatments.
- Apply, maintain and safely remove gel polish, acrylic, hard gel and dip systems, nail extensions and overlays, using both electric file and hand techniques.
- Construct and correct artificial nail structure including apex placement, upper arch and stress point work, and perform rebalance and infill services to maintain structural integrity and wear.
- Repair damaged, split or defective nails, and remediate lifting, over-filing, onycholysis and other product-related damage arising from prior treatment.
- Design and apply decorative nail art and customised nail designs.
- Select and evaluate professional product systems, tools and equipment having regard to product chemistry, adhesion, retention, cure requirements and client sensitivity, and manage adverse reactions and product failures.
- Provide advice and sell retail nail and skin care products to clients, and instruct clients on home care and aftercare routines to support treatment outcomes.
- Receive bookings, arrange client appointments, and maintain accurate client treatment records including treatment history, products used and aftercare recommendations.
- Maintain sterilisation, infection control and workplace health and safety standards including sterilising and maintaining tools, equipment and treatment areas in accordance with applicable standards and public health requirements.
- Keep up to date with current nail care techniques, products and industry developments to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
About you
- Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy (or equivalent) or higher.
- Experience performing professional nail services at the level described above.
- Ability to analyse the condition of the hands, feet and nail unit and determine the appropriate treatment and product system for each client.
- Competence in manicure, pedicure and specialised hand and foot treatments, including gel polish, acrylic, hard gel and dip systems, nail extensions and overlays.
- Competence in structural artificial nail construction and remedial correction work, including rebalance and infill services and repair of damaged nails.
- Technical knowledge of professional product systems, including product chemistry, adhesion, retention and cure requirements.
- Design and execution of decorative and customised nail art.
- Strong client service and communication skills, including client consultation and aftercare instruction.
- Knowledge of sterilisation and infection control requirements applicable to a salon environment.
Hours
The position is on a full-time basis, 38 ordinary hours per week, worked on a roster across the salon's trading days.
