About GV Health:
Goulburn Valley Health (GV Health) is the main health service in the region, providing a broad range of acute, sub-acute, mental health and community-based services across Shepparton, Tatura, Rushworth, Euroa and surrounding communities. With nearly 3,000 staff, GV Health enters its next chapter with strong organisational foundations, an experienced executive team, an engaged Board and deep community connection.
This is a significant opportunity to lead GV Health through its next phase of development, building on what is already strong while positioning the organisation for the future and contributing to the evolution of healthcare across the region.
About the role
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will provide strategic leadership across GV Health, with accountability for the delivery of safe, high-quality healthcare, organisational performance, financial sustainability and the achievement of its strategic priorities.
Working in close partnership with the Board and executive team, the CEO will shape the organisation’s next strategic direction, strengthen clinical and operational performance and position GV Health to respond to the opportunities and challenges arising from an evolving health system. Priorities include strengthening clinical leadership and the patient care journey, building a sustainable workforce, progressing digital and infrastructure ambitions, and strengthening partnerships that support access to care across the region.
As a visible and trusted leader, the CEO will build strong relationships with government, staff, health sector partners, local government and the community and provide a strong voice for GV Health and the communities it serves. Success will require a leader who builds trust and brings considered judgement to the organisation’s continued evolution.
About you
The successful candidate will be an accomplished executive with significant leadership experience in healthcare or a comparable health service environment. You will bring a strong understanding of the operational, clinical, workforce and financial complexities of delivering high-quality health services, ideally across a large and diverse service footprint. You will understand the importance of working effectively with the workforce, alongside government, the Board and broader health-system partners.
Visible, engaging and considered in your leadership, you will combine strategic perspective with disciplined execution, credibility and political acumen. You will bring the confidence to lead, the ability to listen and empower others and a genuine commitment to the people and communities GV Health serves.
