THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced HR & Recruitment Coordinator to join our team in Mackay.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from attracting and onboarding new employees through to employee relations and ongoing HR support.
With major projects driving recruitment requirements, you will play an important role in sourcing and securing skilled personnel, particularly trade-based employees such as Boilermakers and Fitters.
Alongside recruitment, you will provide practical HR support to managers and employees, and help ensure our employment practices remain compliant with relevant legislation and industrial instruments.
Working closely with senior management and supported by an existing HR Administrator, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of key HR functions while contributing to the continued growth of the business.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Run recruitment end to end, from writing the ad to the first day on site, with a focus on trade and technical roles
- Be the go-to person for industrial relations matters
- Keep our employment, payroll and IR practices compliant with legislation, awards and agreements
- Manage employee records, contracts and entitlements
- Give practical, day-to-day HR support to project teams and managers
- Champion KSG's values across the business
ABOUT YOU
A practical and organised HR professional who is comfortable balancing competing priorities and working across a broad range of responsibilities.
You can work independently, communicate confidently with people at all levels and understand the importance of getting the details right.
- WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Generalist HR and recruitment experience, ideally including trade, technical or project-based hiring
- Demonstrated experience managing recruitment from advertising through to appointment.
- Hands-on experience managing employment contracts and entitlements.
- Confidence interpreting Modern Awards (overtime, allowances, penalty rates).
- Solid knowledge of Australian employment law and workplace compliance requirements.
- Strong communication, time management and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to handle sensitive company and employee information with discretion and professionalism.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the confidence to work collaboratively with management and employees.
A qualification in HR or a related field is highly regarded. Experience with Employment Hero and Sprintsuite is a bonus.
