We are looking for a Paediatric Speech Pathologist to join our wonderful team. Picture this… it's 9am and you've just pulled up at the clinic (or maybe a local school), coffee in hand, ready for your first session of the day. Your first client bursts through the door with more energy than you've had all week (because that's just what kids do). After your session, it's time to catch up face-to-face with one of your colleagues, a Physiotherapist, or Occupational Therapist to talk through a shared client and plan next steps together. You're making a real difference in the lives of kids and families in our rural community, building genuine connections in person, one session at a time.

You have a flexible working arrangement. You're in charge of choosing your own hours and days, so there's never any need to ask permission to go to your own kid's school concert. You also have access to unlimited support from a beautiful team of three other Speech Pathologists, plus a wider team of multidisciplinary therapists.

Kerin Health is seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic and innovative team, providing high-quality, face-to-face therapeutic services to children in rural Australia. This unique opportunity allows you to work directly with paediatric clients and their families, building real, in-person relationships while supporting and making a difference in the lives of kids in rural areas. You will collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team, including Allied Health Assistants, to provide comprehensive care and interventions.

If you are passionate about rural healthcare and making a positive and lasting impact on the lives of children in rural Australia, join our team of dedicated professionals and help shape the future of paediatric speech therapy in rural communities. This role is a Paediatric client caseload. Make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of families in Central West, NSW.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct Initial Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of children referred to the service utilising a range of assessment tools, observation, and parent interviews to determine the child's speech therapy needs.
  • Treatment Planning and Intervention: Develop individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based interventions and therapeutic techniques to deliver intervention that meets the client’s goals.
  • Service Delivery: Deliver high-quality speech therapy services to children and families.
  • Collaborative Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate closely with a supportive multidisciplinary team, including Key Workers and Allied Health Assistants, to ensure coordinated and integrated care for children. Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing communication to provide holistic support.
  • Parent and Caregiver Education: Educate and empower parents and caregivers about their child's speech therapy goals, intervention strategies, and home-based activities to support their child's progress. Provide resources and training as needed.
  • Progress Monitoring and Documentation: Regularly monitor and evaluate children's progress towards established goals, adjust treatment plans accordingly, and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all assessments, interventions, and communications in accordance with organisational policies and standards.
  • Professional Development and Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and emerging trends in paediatric speech therapy, Telehealth, and related fields. Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration and licensure as a Speech Pathology in Australia.
