This is an opportunity to take ownership of high-volume, end-to-end recruitment across a diverse portfolio, including Bus Operators, Maintenance roles and selected corporate and operational positions.

You will work closely with operational leaders across NSW to understand workforce needs, build strong candidate pipeline and deliver a positive candidate experience from first contact through to onboarding.

The role will require occasional travel across our 11 NSW depots, as well as attendance at selected evening and weekend Group Interview sessions, Open Days and recruitment events.

This role is suited to someone with more than two years' recruitment experience, demonstrated leadership capability and who is ready to take the next step in their recruitment career.

You will gain exposure to team coordination, workforce planning, stakeholder management and process improvement, with a clear pathway to be developed and considered for the next Recruitment opportunity, subject to performance and business requirements.

  • What you will be doing
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for high-volume operational, transport, maintenance and white-collar roles.
  • Partner with operational leaders to understand workforce requirements, vacancy priorities and hiring plans.
  • Develop targeted sourcing strategies to attract suitable candidates in a competitive labour market.
  • Manage job advertising, candidate screening, interviews, assessments, reference checks, pre-employment checks and onboarding coordination.
  • Deliver a high-quality candidate experience through responsive, professional and clear communication.
  • Maintain accurate candidate and recruitment records through relevant HR and applicant tracking systems.
  • Monitor recruitment activity, pipeline performance and conversion rates, using data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support workforce planning discussions and provide recruitment insights to leaders.
  • Assist with employee retention initiatives, including ad hoc retention conversations, exit interviews and trend reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external providers and community partners.
  • Attend and support Recruitment open days, career expos, information sessions and employer-brand events.
  • Identify and implement practical process improvements to make recruitment simpler, faster and more candidate-focused.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and support to junior Recruitment team members as required.
  • Support Recruitment and Training projects and other business initiatives as required.
  • Confidently facilitate Group Interview sessions and information presentations for groups of 30 or more candidates, clearly communicating role requirements, employment conditions, recruitment processes and the Transit Systems employee experience.
  • What you will bring
  • At least two years' demonstrated experience in end-to-end recruitment, preferably within a high-volume, operational, transport, logistics, blue-collar or customer-facing environment.
  • A background in customer service and/or sales is highly regarded.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and confidence working with operational leaders.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel between locations independently, with a current driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
  • Proven ability to remain calm, professional and effective when working under pressure.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working through change, with the ability to respond quickly to evolving business priorities.
  • Experience using recruitment, HRIS or applicant-tracking systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to compliance, confidentiality and professional standards.
  • Experience using data, reporting or pipeline insights to support recruitment decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership maturity, sound judgement and the ability to influence others positively.
  • A genuine interest in developing others, improving processes and progressing into a people-leadership role.
  • Relevant recruitment, HR or business qualifications are desirable but not essential.

  • Access to a supportive, collaborative Recruitment and Training team.
