About the Position
The Finance Business Partner provides financial advice, reporting, analysis and recommendations to support informed business decisions. The role supports budgeting, financial governance, performance monitoring and stakeholder engagement across multiple business areas.
Duties
- Provide financial advice, reporting, insights and recommendations to support business decision-making
- Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and finance subject matter experts
- Identify financial risks, issues and opportunities and support implementation of solutions
- Undertake financial investigations, research and analysis to support business objectives
- Monitor compliance with financial policies, governance frameworks and statutory requirements
- Support budget management, financial performance monitoring and variance analysis
- Deliver financial reports, data analysis and business insights
- Support implementation of new financial processes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide risk management advice and assist with mitigation strategies
- Contribute to wider finance activities and departmental priorities
Requirements/Skills
- Tertiary qualifications in accountancy, economics, commerce, finance or equivalent experience
- Experience influencing and supporting implementation of financial governance and best-practice financial strategies
- Knowledge of NSW Public Sector financial management policies, processes and regulatory requirements
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills
- Ability to analyse financial information and provide practical recommendations and solutions
- Experience supporting budgeting, financial reporting, governance and risk management
- Ability to work collaboratively across business units and provide trusted financial advice
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities
- Previous NSW Government or broader public sector experience highly desirable
- Recent Police Check within 6 months or willingness to complete a Police Check
- Ability to provide two professional reference checks
