School Bus Driver/Cleaner & Yardsperson in Henty

Kanes Buses Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable School Bus Driver/Cleaner & Yardsperson to join our team in Henty, NSW. This is a full-time position offering a unique opportunity to combine driving responsibilities with maintenance and yard duties. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safe transportation of school students whilst maintaining our fleet to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Operating and driving school buses safely and punctually on scheduled routes, transporting students to and from school.
• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure buses are in safe working condition.
• Maintaining comprehensive logbooks and reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.
• Cleaning and sanitising buses regularly, including interior and exterior surfaces, to ensure a hygienic environment for students.
• Performing basic maintenance tasks in the yard, including mowing and fuelling.
• Supporting yard operations and assisting with fleet management duties as required.
• Adhering to all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies at all times.
• Communicating professionally with students, parents, school staff and colleagues.
• Contributing to a positive workplace culture and supporting the wider Kanes Buses team.

What we're looking for:

• A valid Medium Rigid (MR) driver's licence, with a current National Police Clearance (NPC).
• A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or the ability to obtain one.
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical.
• Experience as a bus driver, preferably in school transport or passenger services is desirable but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and a commitment to safe driving practices.
• Excellent time management and reliability, with a consistent attendance record.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform cleaning and yard maintenance duties.
• Strong communication skills and a professional approach to working with students and families.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A customer-focused attitude and genuine care for passenger safety and wellbeing.
• Experience with basic vehicle maintenance and a willingness to learn is advantageous.
