Behind every shift filled is a nurse doing what they do best and a patient or resident getting the care they need. Your job is to make that happen. We’re looking for a calm, switched-on Allocations Consultant to join Nursing Australia on a casual basis in our Melbourne team. You’ll sit at the heart of a 7-day-a-week service, matching the right people to the right shifts, keeping credentials and compliance spot-on, and solving problems fast when the pressure is on.

Please note: This is a frontline operational role covering mainly after hours and weekends, with day shift cover as needed. This is a remote role. Shifts vary and can include late closes through to 1:15am, so flexibility is key. If you thrive when things get busy, we’d love to meet you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Allocating and coordinating shifts across a 7-day-a-week service, matching the right people to the right requests
  • Managing bookings and rosters in our workforce management systems, accurately and in real time
  • Checking compliance and credentials to make sure every allocation meets requirements
  • Responding calmly and quickly to last-minute changes, urgent requests and after-hours demands
  • Communicating clearly with clients and our workforce, by phone and in writing
  • Supporting after-hours operations and covering day shifts where needed

You’re the right person if…

  • You have experience in allocations, rostering, scheduling or workforce coordination (healthcare preferred)
  • You communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing
  • You can work under pressure in a high-volume, time-critical environment
  • You have a high attention to detail, particularly with compliance and credentials
  • You’re confident using workforce management or booking systems
  • You bring a professional, calm and solution-focused approach
  • You’re available for early starts, late finishes and weekends
  • Experience in health labour hire, nursing agencies, aged care, disability or hospital staffing is a bonus, as is knowledge of healthcare awards, fatigue considerations, clinical roles, skill mix and scope of practice

Why Nursing Australia:

  • Wellness initiatives plus 24/7 access to the Sonder wellbeing app
  • Access to an employee rewards hub providing savings and cashback across everyday purchases
  • Employee recognition initiatives, including gift vouchers for Employee of the Month and service anniversaries
  • Enjoy free Orbit World Travel Club membership - $100 travel voucher, exclusive offers, and dedicated support
  • Genuine long-term career opportunities as we continue to grow
