We are seeking an experienced Project Manager β Civil Works (PMCW) to spearhead the tender and execution phases of a major, upcoming heavy industrial infrastructure facility in Regional Victoria. Reporting to senior leadership, you will take full ownership of the civil Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) scope. This includes managing a dedicated civil project team, leading subcontractor negotiations, tracking multi-million dollar budgets, and ensuring flawless constructability.
If you have a proven track record delivering heavy foundations, earthworks, and reinforced concrete structures on Tier-1 industrial sites, this is your next career-defining project.
Key Responsibilities
- Scope & Schedule Ownership: Define the complete Civil Project Scope (WBS, design scope, and DOW) across both tender and execution phases, establishing critical site and procurement timelines.
- Commercial & Financial Control: Manage civil costs strictly against budget, perform root-cause analyses on non-budgeted variances, and drive the Civil Change and Claims Management strategy.
- Subcontractor Management: Drive subcontractor prequalification, technical evaluations, commercial negotiations, and contract administration/close-out (including BoQ preparation).
- HSEQ Leadership: Lead and enforce world-class Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality compliance across all Kanadevia Inova and subcontractor teams, with full authority to halt work if safety is compromised.
- Interface & Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the primary face of civil works to site management and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth integration with cross-functional mechanical and electrical (M&E) teams.
Please note: The above job duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature of the work and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities may change or vary depending on the specific needs of the business.
Qualifications
- Education: University degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Proven Experience: A strong background as a Civil Construction Manager or EPC Project Manager within the heavy industrial, utilities, power generation, or refinery business.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated experience managing complex industrial subcontracts, technical tender top-sheet reviews, and cost forecasting.
- Safety Credentials: Holds a valid White Card, SMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme) or equivalent, and a recognized construction safety card (e.g., RIW, CSCS, or equivalent industrial credentials).
- Technical Tools: Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite with a strong understanding of scheduling tool interfaces.
