K-Spec Building Consultants is seeking a motivated and experienced Building Consultant / Building Inspector to join our growing team, servicing the Northern Sunshine Coast & Fraser Coast Regions. This is a full time position.

Established in 2013, K-Spec is a family-owned building consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering professional, independent and practical building inspections across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

We have built long-standing relationships with leading residential builders and clients who value our expertise, professionalism and balanced approach to building inspections.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Supervisor, Site Manager, qualified builder or Building Inspector looking to take the next step in their career.

You will enjoy the independence of working in the field, the variety of inspecting different residential projects and the support of an experienced management and administration team.

About the Role

The successful applicant will undertake residential building inspections across the Sunshine Coast, northern regions and surrounding areas, with travel required depending on project locations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting Practical Completion (PC), quality assurance and maintenance inspections.
• Identifying building defects, workmanship issues and non-compliant construction work.
• Assessing residential construction against the National Construction Code (NCC), relevant Australian Standards and accepted building practices.
• Preparing accurate, detailed and professional inspection reports.
• Liaising professionally with builders, site supervisors and clients.
• Managing inspection schedules and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Travelling throughout the Sunshine Coast, northern Queensland and surrounding regions as required.

About You

We are seeking a reliable and experienced building professional with a thorough understanding of residential construction, excellent attention to detail and a professional approach to their work.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Extensive experience in residential building and construction.
• Experience as a Building Supervisor, Site Manager, Building Inspector, Building Consultant or qualified builder.
• Strong knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards and building tolerances.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to identify defects and provide practical, balanced assessments.
• Confidence working independently and managing inspections efficiently.
• Good computer skills and the ability to prepare professional reports.
• A current driver's licence.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Sunshine Coast, Gympie, Fraser Coast (Hervey Bay, Bundaberg) and surrounding areas, including overnight stays when required.
• Previous experience in building inspections or consultancy will be highly regarded.
