Join the Global Credit Assurance team of a leading global bank on a twelve-month fixed-term contract.
This is a Line 2 assurance role within a centralised risk management function, with a focus on the wholesale lending and prime brokerage/margin lending portfolio.
What role will you play?
As a Manager in the team, you will contribute to the delivery of credit assurance review programs covering financial risk frameworks across the wholesale and margin lending/prime brokerage book.
Your key accountabilities will include
- Executing sample testing of credit delegation holder approvals against policy, to identify, capture and drive mitigation of key financial risks across wholesale lending and margin lending/prime brokerage exposures.
- Assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of credit risk frameworks, policies and procedures applied to institutional lending and trading products (derivatives, swaps, options and margin facilities).
- Identifying and escalating vulnerabilities in the supporting risk architecture - including systems, controls and governance processes - that may drive deviation from approved risk appetite.
- Conducting root cause analysis on identified issues and control gaps, and tracking remediation actions through to close-out.
- Analysing credit risk data to identify emerging risks, trends and outliers across the portfolio, translating findings into clear insights for senior stakeholders.
- Providing advice to the business on best practice for the design, measurement, analysis, evaluation and reporting of credit risk.
- Preparing clear, well-evidenced assurance reports and papers for presentation to senior management and risk committees.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with credit delegation holders, front-office and business stakeholders, balancing independent challenge with constructive engagement.
- Staying abreast of regulatory developments and industry practice relevant to wholesale credit and margin lending, incorporating these into the assurance approach.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the assurance methodology, testing tools and review programs.
- What you'll offer
- Prior experience in a credit risk discipline - credit decisioning, audit, assurance or risk advisory
- Experience with a wholesale portfolio, with exposure to institutional lending and trading products (derivatives, swaps, options); margin lending or prime brokerage experience highly regarded
- Strong communication and advanced negotiation skills
- Experience engaging stakeholders at multiple levels
