Fabricator in Sydney

JS Balustrading PTY LTD is seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our dynamic team in Kirrawee, NSW. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in the fabrication and manufacturing of quality metalwork products. As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for transforming raw materials into finished products through precision welding, cutting, and assembly work. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and meeting the expectations of our valued clients across the trades and services sector.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine fabrication requirements
• Operate and maintain welding equipment, including MIG, TIG and stick welding machines, to join metal components with precision and quality
• Measure, mark and cut metal materials using various tools and equipment such as angle grinders, plasma cutters and shears
• Assemble metal components and sub-assemblies according to specifications and quality standards
• Perform quality inspections on fabricated products to ensure they meet design specifications and safety requirements
• Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies
• Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification
• Maintain and service fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Document work completed and maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent on projects

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Fabricator or in a similar welding and metalworking role
• Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG and stick welding
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience with metal cutting and shaping tools and equipment
• Sound knowledge of health and safety practices in a fabrication workshop environment
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical fitness and ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy materials
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in welding or fabrication (preferred)
• Experience in the balustrading, fencing or architectural metalwork industries would be advantageous
