Job Description – Pastry Cook
- Inspecting the cleanliness of equipment and premises, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, before initiating production runs.
- Evaluating the quality of raw materials and accurately weighing ingredients.
- Preparing various pastry fillings for use in baked goods.
- Monitoring oven temperatures and assessing product appearance to determine optimal baking times.
- Coordinating the entire process, including forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling batches of bread, rolls, and pastry products.
- Applying glaze to buns and pastries, and embellishing cakes with cream and icing.
- Operating machinery responsible for rolling and molding dough, as well as cutting biscuits.
- Emptying, cleaning, and greasing baking trays, tins, and other cooking equipment as part of routine maintenance.
Tasks: Adhere to strict hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout the entire production process to ensure the safety and quality of baked goods.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position is essential.
- Qualification: Candidates with relevant AQF Certificate III.
- English Language: Must be able to demonstrate Vocational English Ability.
