Dissolved Rock Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Therapist to provide individualised therapeutic, recreational and psychosocial interventions to people across aged care, disability and community settings. You'll work directly with consumers and participants to build programs that support wellbeing, participation and quality of life β€” drawing on recreation, creativity, social connection and meaningful occupation as your core tools. This is a genuinely therapeutic, person-centred role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing consumer and participant interests, strengths, abilities, goals and support needs.
  • Therapeutic program design taking into account participant needs.
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing individualised therapeutic recreation and leisure programs.
  • Facilitating individual and group therapeutic activities.
  • Providing individual therapy or wellbeing consultations as required.
  • Using creative, recreational, sensory, social and community-based interventions to promote wellbeing and participation.
  • Adapting programs for people experiencing disability, cognitive impairment, psychosocial challenges or changing functional capacity.
  • Supporting community participation, social connection and meaningful engagement.
  • Monitoring outcomes and adjusting interventions accordingly.
  • Liaising with consumers, families, carers and other professionals involved in a person's care.
  • Contributing to multidisciplinary care planning and review.
  • Documenting, evaluating and reviewing interventions and outcomes, adapting programs as required.

As part of working within a small practice, you'll also contribute to some of the day-to-day coordination that keeps services running smoothly, including client intake and initial enquiries, family liaison, referral coordination, appointment scheduling, and communication with external providers.

About you: You're an experienced Therapist or qualified Diversional Therapist (or hold an equivalent therapeutic recreation qualification) who enjoys working directly with people to build programs that matter to them. You're comfortable working independently, adapting your approach across different consumer groups, and collaborating with families, carers and other professionals. You're organised enough to manage your own caseload and documentation in a small-practice environment, and you're motivated by the chance to help shape a growing service.

Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Diversional Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy or a closely related discipline.
  • Relevant professional experience working with people requiring aged-care, disability, psychosocial or community-based support.
  • Desirable experience in counselling skills, art therapy or music therapy.
  • Experience working across a range of therapeutic, creative or psychosocial approaches.
  • Experience working across both aged-care and disability settings.
  • Experience with person-centred care planning and multidisciplinary practice or counselling experience.
  • Relevant professional registration/membership.

What we offer:

  • A full-time role within an established practice, with opportunities to develop an ongoing caseload across NDIS, aged care and community settings.
  • Clinical supervision to support your professional practice.
  • The opportunity to help build a new service stream within a professional multidisciplinary practice.
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 (to be confirmed, dependent on qualifications/experience/days worked).
