Senior opportunity to contribute to the growth of a growing disputes practice

An established, award-winning specialist disputes and insolvency firm is looking to appoint an experienced Special Counsel, with the possibility of a salaried Partner appointment for the right person.

The firm has experienced significant growth, building a strong reputation for handling sophisticated, high-value disputes and gaining recognition in leading legal industry awards and rankings.

With an expanding partner group and further growth planned, the firm is looking to appoint senior lawyers who want to play a meaningful role in the future of the practice.

  • Why Join
  • Work on complex, high-value matters.

The firm specialise in commercial litigation, insolvency and restructuring, shareholder and corporate disputes, financial disputes, fraud and asset recovery, regulatory investigations, international disputes and arbitration.

  • Benefit from realistic career progression opportunities, including joining as Special Counsel with a view to partnership, or potentially stepping directly into a salaried Partner role (depending on level and experience).
  • Develop your own client base and referral network with the support of established partners, whilst benefiting from a strong pipeline of existing work from day one.
  • Have a genuine say in the direction of the practice, contribute to strategic decisions, mentor junior lawyers and play an active role in the firm's continued growth.
  • Enjoy a culture where lawyers are not routinely expected to work late into the evening or over weekends (6.5-hour daily billable target).

The Opportunity

  • This opportunity will suit an experienced disputes lawyer who enjoys leading complex matters, developing client relationships and taking an active role in building a practice.
  • Working alongside established partners, you'll take responsibility for sophisticated disputes, with significant autonomy over litigation strategy, client management and matter delivery.
  • The firm is particularly interested in lawyers with strong insolvency and restructuring disputes experience, although senior practitioners from broader commercial litigation and other contentious practice areas are also encouraged to apply.

About You

  • Ideally 8+ years' PQE with substantial experience in commercial litigation, contentious insolvency or another area of complex dispute resolution.
  • Strong technical expertise, sound commercial judgement and the confidence to lead sophisticated matters and manage senior client relationships.
  • An interest in business development, mentoring lawyers and contributing to the strategic growth of a specialist practice.

For senior lawyers considering their longer-term progression, or those looking for greater autonomy and the opportunity to build a practice within an established, growing firm, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
