  • Monitor material availability, resource requirements and production bottlenecks, implementing practical solutions to minimise delays.
  • Review engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications and job documentation to ensure production requirements are clearly understood.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, sales and other departments to ensure jobs progress smoothly and meet required standards.
  • Liaise with supervisors, tradespeople and management to resolve day-to-day issues and communicate job progress, outstanding matters and delivery schedules.
  • Provide regular updates to management on project progress, outstanding issues, potential delays and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain a safe, organised and tidy workplace while ensuring compliance with workplace safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Assist with general sheet metal fabrication and assembly tasks when required (training provided).

About you

  • Proven experience in production management, production coordination or a similar role within a metal fabrication or engineering manufacturing environment.
  • Strong practical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and general manufacturing processes.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across production teams and other departments.
  • A hands-on approach and strong presence on the factory floor, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • A trade qualification or relevant technical background in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment involving both sheet metal fabrication and CNC machining would be advantageous.
  • Current forklift licence, White Card, First Aid certification, or Fire Warden training desirable.
