About the Role
Caroona Feedlot is currently recruiting a Diesel Mechanic to join our team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is an excellent opportunity to expand your expertise with a global leader in food production.
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy plant and machinery, including trucks, loaders, feeding equipment, and agricultural machinery, to ensure maximum equipment uptime. This role involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnosing faults, and ensuring all work complies with safety and quality standards. The position requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing efficient and effective breakdown and preventative maintenance
- Engaging in maintenance service and repairs to heavy plant and machinery including trucks, feeding equipment, front end loaders, screening equipment, tractors and agricultural equipment
- Ensuring that all mechanical work is carried out to meet the company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant legislation
- Implement work order instructions in line with schedule completions
- Upkeep of maintenance workshop, ensuring a clean and tidy workspace
- Other duties as directed by the Rolling Stock Coordinator and Maintenance Supervisor

- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
