Wanted: Senior Accountant
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to step into a pivotal leadership role. In this position, you will not only manage a complex portfolio of tax and compliance matters but also lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated team of accountants. Key responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and review the work of a team of intermediate and junior accountants, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and professional growth.
- Oversee and review the preparation of financial statements, Income Tax Returns, BAS/IAS, FBT, and payroll tax for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, offering strategic tax planning, restructuring advice, and compliance solutions.
- Manage team capacity, assign files, and ensure all statutory deadlines (ATO/ASIC) are met seamlessly.
- Stay abreast of changing tax legislations and conduct internal training sessions to upskill the team.
About you
- CA or CPA qualified is essential.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in an Australian public practice environment, with a strong focus on tax and compliance.
- Proven experience mentoring junior staff, reviewing work, and managing workflows.
- Deep understanding of complex tax structures, Division 7A, CGT concessions, and trust distributions.
- Strong proficiency in modern accounting ecosystems (e.g., Xero, MYOB Practice Manager, APS, or Class).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with both clients and team members.
