Prince of Peace Lutheran College is seeking an experienced accountant to take responsibility for its day-to-day accounting, financial control and statutory reporting. Reporting to the Business Manager, you will hold a hands‑on position with genuine breadth, where your work directly supports the College's budgeting, cash flow and long‑term financial planning.
The role:
- Complete month‑end and year‑end processes, and prepare monthly reporting with budget variance analysis
- Manage fee debtors, including aged account follow up, payment arrangements and liaison with EdStart
- Oversee payroll delivered by the College's external provider, and review accounts payable processes
- Prepare or coordinate BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax and PAYG, and support the annual external audit
- Maintain internal controls across receivables, payables, payroll and banking
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce or a related discipline, with CPA, CA or IPA membership (or progress towards it) highly desirable
- Proven experience in month‑end reporting, reconciliations, taxation and internal controls
- Practical exposure to accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll oversight
- Advanced Excel skills
- The ability to hold sensitive fee conversations with families with tact and professionalism
- Experience in education or not‑for‑profit is highly regarded
- A current Working with Children clearance, or the ability to obtain one before commencing
- Support for the Christian ethos of the College
