Set in the heart of Surfers Paradise and on the doorstep of the famous Surfers Paradise Beach, Island Gold Coast boutique hotel is looking for a Venue Manager to lead Goldies. Full time position available. This position’s roster includes early mornings, evenings and weekends across a 7 day operation.
Goldies changes with the day. Easy, sunny breakfasts roll into relaxed lunches, then the lights drop, the music lifts and it becomes one of Surfers Paradise’s best nights out. The role
Reporting to the Outlets Manager and working side by side with the Head Chef, you’ll run Goldies as your own business. You’ll lead the front of house team across three very different services and drive results across six areas: People, Product, Customer, Communication, Environment & Safety, and Profit.
What you’ll do
Lead the launch of breakfast and build three distinct services that each feel right for the time of day
Be the visible leader on the floor, setting the standard and supporting your team where it counts
Recruit ahead of demand, induct properly, train and cross train, and hold regular one on ones and six monthly reviews
Write fully costed rosters to the weekly sales forecast across a 7 day, all day operation and land labour on budget
Manage beverage GP, order to par, run stocktakes with actual versus theoretical analysis and explain variances
Partner with the kitchen on menu launches, allergen management and keeping the offer fresh
Own the guest experience: sequence of service, ambience as the day shifts, ticket times and responding to every review within 24 hours
Work with marketing to grow each daypart through promotions and activations
Keep Goldies compliant with liquor, food safety and WHS requirements, with a compliance folder that is always inspection ready
Skills and Experience
Experience running all day trading, ideally including a busy breakfast service
A track record of controlling labour and cost of sales budgets
Confidence with rostering, POS and stock systems
A leader who develops people, handles conflict fairly and builds a team others want to join
Energy, composure under pressure and genuine warmth with guests
Qualifications
At least 3 years’ experience as a Venue Manager or similar in a premium or high volume venue
Current Queensland RSA
Current RMLV
Approved Manager status (or able to obtain before starting)
Highly regarded
Experience opening or relaunching a venue or service
Experience with Human Force and EventPro
Food Safety Supervisor certificate and First Aid
Hospitality or business qualification
