Undergraduate or Graduate Accountant & Administration Officer in Sydney

Start your career in a hands-on role where accuracy, organisation and problem solving matter more than your degree. We’re looking for a recent graduate who likes getting things right, enjoys working through detail and wants to learn how investment portfolios are run behind the scenes. You don’t need an accounting degree or a CA/CPA qualification but one will be helpful. If you’re organised, careful with numbers and enjoy figuring out why something doesn’t add up, we’ll teach you the rest.

The role involves joining our internal accounting and reporting team to help keep client investment records accurate, complete and up to date. You’ll be trained and supported by experienced team members, and you’ll work alongside our advisers, operations team and the external accountants who rely on our reporting. Your day-to-day work will include:

• Processing investment transactions and reconciling to brokers, investment records and source documents;
• Preparing and reviewing annual taxation reports;
• Investigating discrepancies, liaising with various stakeholders and clients;
• Following up missing information with clients, providers and external accountants;
• Assisting the documents team with maintaining our clients' investment records;
• Keeping our systems and records up to date, including Class and other platforms;
• Supporting the team with general administration across the reporting cycle, such as periodic reporting for BAS preparation, life events or tax planning;
• Suggesting improvements to our systems, workflows and other processes.

This isn’t a role where you just push paper. You’ll be trusted to spot problems, chase them down and help us build systems and controls to ensure we work, as a team, efficiently and productively.

About you: You’ll have recently completed or are working towards completing a degree in any discipline. Business, finance, commerce, economics, maths and science are all welcome, but so is anything else if you have the right skills. We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Have strong attention to detail and take pride in accurate work;
• Are well organised and can manage several tasks at once;
• Are comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets (good Excel skills are a plus);
• Enjoy problem solving;
• Communicate clearly in writing and over the phone;
• Pick up new systems and processes quickly.

Experience in admin, data entry, customer service or any financial services setting (including part-time work or internships) is a bonus but not essential.
